I’m a native english speaker and I still find the language complicated! I’ve dabbled in Spanish and German and both of those languages seem to make more logical sense (until I got to the dative case in German). Anyway, the Open University has put together a good 11 minute video on the bizarre history of english.
It’s worth watching even if you think you’re an english speaking superstar!
